International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Women and Girls in Sciencea, an International Day now in its sixth edition, promoted by the United Nations and also celebrated in Matera thanks to Openet Technologies SpA, con l’obiettivo di celebrare il contributo femminile alla conoscenza e all’’innovazione, incoraggiando le ragazze a intraprendere un percorso di formazione scientifica e promuovendo anche in questo campo la parità di genere.

Openet Technologies thus opens the season of "Events in progress” with an international meeting, which was attended by well-known faces of female science, researchers who have distinguished themselves in their specific fields – physics, climate change, science dissemination, engineering.
Two meetings are scheduled for the day to share their experiences:

– in the morning with the researchers of NEREUS (Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies) with Margarita Chrysaki (communication and projects for NEREUS, science journalist), Nathalie Stephenne (geographer expert in public services in Wallonia) and Marie Jagaille (geographer and project manager for satellite applications of the “Brittany Remote Sensing” cluster), led by Giovanna Pinazzi (Phd in Comunicazione Politica)

– in the evening a talk show live streaming on the YouTube channel MateraSocial, with the professor Aurelia Sole, astrophysics Fiorella Coliolo and physics Camerla Cornacchia conducted by Vania Cauzillo theatre director and documentary filmmaker from Matera.
