Openet Technologies Spa supports the "A Scuola di Stelle" Summer Astronomy School project, supported by the Italian Astronomical Society (SAIT), the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF), and the Directorate General for School Systems and Evaluation of the National Education System of the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).

In particular, the youth sector of Sparkme's Space Academy, the technology accelerator created by Openet in partnership with the Italian Space Agency and the European Space Agency, has opened its doors to thirty students from the school selected for an internship with a view to their possible participation in the Astronomy Olympics.

Concentration is high, and the students don't let up for a second, remaining still at their desks. They grapple with formulas and theories. They ponder astronomical latitude and imagine having to determine the geographic latitude if they were on a desert island. Angela Misiano, head of the Calabria chapter of the Italian Astronomical Society, offers interesting advice, especially when she pushes the issue of reasoning.

"Is it possible for a star to pass through the meridian twice in the same night?" This is one of the questions Flavio Fusi Pecci, vice president of the Italian Astronomical Society, asks the students as they gaze at the North Pole, where night lasts six months.
